GLIMPSES OF IAVP SOUTH ZONE CONFERENCE-2016, HELD AT TIRUPATI.

The IAVP South Zone Conference, 2016 and National Seminar on “Advances in diagnosis of emerging and re-emerging diseases of Avian Species” was held on 15th and 16th July, 2016 on the theme of emerging and re-emerging diseases of poultry and its diagnosis. The programme was organized by Department of Veterinary Pathology, College of Veterinary Science, SVVU, Tirupati, AP under leadership of Dr Ch. Srilatha, Professor and University Head was Organizing Secretary. Associate Dean Dr Eswara Prasad was Chairman of the function. The Chief Guest of the inaugural session was Dr R.N. Chatterjee, Director, ICAR-DPR, Hyderabad, Telangana. Other dignitaries present in inaugural function were Dr K. Krishnamurthy, Additional Director of Health, Department of Animal Health, AP, IAVP President Dr R. Somvanshi, Vice President Dr. C. Balachandran, South Zonal Secretary Dr G.A. Balsubramaniam and Dr N.R. Gopal Naidu, Retired Professor of Pathology. The occasion was graced by most of Professors of Pathology of South Zone of IAVP, senior faculty members, officers of SVVU, teaching staff and students. About 120 delegates participated in the conference which included 36 Veterinary Assistant Surgeons working under Government of Andhra Pradesh which was an encouraging initiative for college and field interaction. In addition poultry industry was represented by participation of hatchery officials and experts from commercial diagnostic laboratory and poultry distributors. President, IAVP honoured Prof. N. Vijayan, Mannuthy and Prof. Ch. Srilatha, Tirupati for organizing South Zone, IAVP Conferences during 2015 and 2016. Read More...
